Dad, I can’t remember much (or anything, really) about being two, but thankfully, you recorded many of these moments in your “Special Book,” noticing the silly little things your children said or did, recognizing specific character qualities, and highlighting major turning points in our lives. I am BEYOND BLESSED to have a father who took such interest in his children.
Thank you for the bedtime stories (“Spuds and Squiggly”), prayers, and hand/foot rubs,
for the art lessons and left-handed tricks (backwards-writing), and for always making us stop to enjoy the sunset.
Thank you for lovingly disciplining us, for raising us to know and understand the Father’s love for His children,
for catching all those 10,000 pitches that winter in the basement,
for the father-daughter bike rides ("One-way-with-the-wind!")...
the father-daughter dates to Alley Oops or Chuck-E-Cheese, and for showing me what a godly man/husband should look like.
Perhaps the greatest compliment I could ever give you is that when it came time to marry, I chose someone with striking resemblance to you... :)
I love you, Dad.
He sure holds a special place in our hearts, Amanda!!! Carl and Lori
